Irish Club Team Championships 2017

Third Best Recurve Team in the Country!

Great day out at the Irish Team Championships.

Massive thanks to the City of Belfast Archers for organising a great shoot.

After losing a tough semi final to Dublin Archers, the team shot a great recovery to beat the Wicklow Archers team 6-0 to take home the Bronze.

Congratulations to Mark Walsh and Josh Coughlan on placing on the podium in their first ever outdoor competition.

Fantastic results from NUIG to finish the season strong

It was a very successful Indoor season for NUIG. Time for a short well-deserved rest and then its time to get the forms and the bows tuned and ready for the outdoor season.

ITT Intervarsity Final 2017

Great results to see out the end of another successful league

Big congratulations to all of our archers who took part in the last intervarsity competition of the season this Saturday. We traveled to Dublin for the final of our intervarsity season. Hosted by IT Tallaght, the competition was a huge success.

We had some amazing successes in both the Final and the Intervarsity League. With;

National Student Indoor Nationals

This years National Student Indoor Nationals was once again run by UCC. The event was the first two-day event for a few years which opened up the the chance to run team head-to-heads, which turned out to be a huge success. NUIG took home gold in the Mixed Team event and silver in the Barebow, Recurve and Compound events. There was also some individual success as Mary Aherne took home bronze in the Recurve Womens Category, and our Captain, Ruairi O'Loughlin also took home bronze in the Mens Compound Category.

UCD Intervarsity

500's all round

NUIG Archery Club’s continued winning streak secured them three team medals and four individuals at UCD intervarsities last Saturday the 18th February. With ITT finals just around the corner our archers have been stepping up their game and they’ve got the scores to prove it, with two of our intermediate archers breaking 500/600 for the first time. Huge conragts to Helen Lacey for shooting an incredible score of 527/600 and also to James Burke for shooting 500 to guarantee both of them a spot in the advanced division next season.

Great results in the first IV of the new year

Congratulations to all of our archers who took part in the first intervarsity competition of 2017 last weekend in IT Carlow. Many hours of training were put in to make the first IV of 2017 as successful as it was for the NUI Galway Archery Club.

Another great weekend for NUIG, placing in some podium positions. A few of our archerys had a tough day after the long bus journey to Maynooth, but the strength and depth of our team shone through.

DCU Intervarsity

Great results in the first IV of the new season

It’s been a successful weekend for the NUIG archery club. The long bus journey to DCU intervarsities proved worthwhile after we came home with all archers having performed exceptionally well. We had blast with the other teams, discussed techniques and welcomed the opportunity to get our beginners comfortable with the idea of shooting under competition conditions.
